Closer every day!

Friday Colby brought home a "countdown to Christmas" art activity he made in school. So, I guess its official! Countdown is on!

I'm happy to say we are just about finished with Christmas shopping and I can't wait to see the little ones on Christmas morning!

And I think I am most excited about Colby having a couple weeks off of school. His kindergarten days haven't been easy on my night owl lifestyle! :) I'm ready to sleep in!

Oh. And on a separate note, tonight after I refused to be chocolate covered graham crackers for Colby, he told me, "Mom...you're pretty, but I don't want to be a part of this family anymore." ????

And yesterday, when playing a video game with Billy, he said, "These wings are organic."

Love that kid.

Finally!

I know I said I was going to post Micah's b-day invitations that I designed and Billy was so sweet to bring my vision to life, SO after seeing Jordan Ferney's post of the darling invitations she did for her son, I decided to get in gear and post Micah's!

Like I said, it was a fern animal inspired party and so of course we had to throw some pictures of our fern animals on there!

Yesterday.

Yesterday we had some family photos taken by Gary Roberts for our Christmas cards.

We left to go eat some California Pizza Kitchen while he burned a disc with all the raw images on it.

I asked my sister, who is friends with Gary, "Do you think he'll put all the pictures on it or weed out the ones that are obviously no good?"

To which Colby said, "We'll still get to see the dinosaur ones, right mom?" (!@#(*@&?)

SO. We got home to find oh...I dunno...like 7 pictures of Colby doing this. THANK YOU Colby. You made Tabitha laugh until she cried!

Here in You presence God, I find my rest.

Presently I feel as if I've been facing some trying times and I have been feeling really exhausted, mentally, emotionally, and physically.

The good news is that God is forever faithful. People are going to always let you down. Your family...your friends...your husband...but I guess the beauty of it is that it forces me to draw near to God for comfort and for strength and for all those things that I might usually turn somewhere else to find.

I hate these times but during these seasons in my life I always look back with how I have pulled through a better person. More focused and able to see things clearer....hope I get there again soon! But even in moments I feel alone I know that I am not. And when I can't see the big plan, I know Who does...and I do find comfort in that!

Few More...

Can you believe the fire truck was a thrift store find?

Boo's Party...

So. I have sort of been missing in action lately since my Grandma had her surgery and I've been at the hospital, but we finally got to have Micah's birthday party!

We had it at Mountain Mike's (yum) and just decided to keep it low key and family only :) Boo's invitations were inspired by his favorite little fern animal.

I made the party favors out of the same fabric I had his custom fern animal (and Colb'ys too) made from and then I had a bib made to match from here.

Ashley, the fern animal designer, was kind enough to set up a listing for me to buy fern animal pins to close all the fabric goody bags up with.

We had a lot of fun visiting with our family and getting to see our lil' cousin Averie who lives in Redding!

Thank you everyone for coming!

Another Graduation...

this time my little brother graduated from the Police Academy.

Colby has thought Toby was super cool ever since he started wearing the cadet uniform to school but no police academy for Colby! He still has his heart set on being in the Army!

Congratulations Toby! We are proud of you!

Happy Birthday Boo Boo.

Today Micah is turning 2 years-old!

This day has always been bittersweet as I remember not only the horrible things Dr. Hoffer said to me but also the horrible and rushed c-section he performed that has left me in much physical pain even now 2 years later. I know he apologized, and every day I try to leave it all behind me, but it is sincerely one of my worst memories.

On the other hand, despite Dr. Hoffer's negligence and unethical comments to me and my family, I did get to finally meet the little boy I carried around for 9 months!!!! I have to try very hard to separate the pain of this moment from the joyous occasion of Micah "entering" our family!

He is such a little lover though I think the terrible 2's may just be fast approaching!

Happy Birthday Micah! And as Colby always puts it, "Everyone loves you Micah!"

Land of the free,

Because of the brave.

Tierzah, we are so proud of you!

This last week my little sister graduated from her training for the United States Air Force! My parents and my sister Tabitha got to go to Texas to see her, but we wanted to tell Tierzah "Congratulations!" too!

Please keep her in your prayers and remember to thank a Veteran today for all the sacrifices they have made for this country.

Because it's not about politics.

It's about having morals.

I have known since I was a child that what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong and it's as simple as that.

That's why my vote supports a man who has fought for this country and values traditional marriage as God intended it, as well as the rights of the born and unborn.

RIP little Station Wagon.

Yesterday Billy and I went down to Roseville on a car hunt.

We knew we didn't want to go high into debt over a car, but we also needed something desperately! So I am happy to say we went with this buick rendezvous (which we had never even heard of!) but c'mon! The car only had one other owner and it has 36,000 miles on it!

AND we stuck to our guns and got it for a steal!

Thanks to Tamiko for keeping the boys all afternoon and to Sandy and Steve for helping us score the awesome insurance coverage through USAA! And to my mom for letting us use her car for the last 2 months!

Oh. And if you have not checked out the new "Fountains" shopping center in Roseville, you are missing out! It is sooo nice! Got some new dishes and Japanese mugs at Anthropologie and finally got to scope out Posh Pumpkins...not quite Kat's Meow, but definitely cute!

Rrrrrr!

That's what Micah says when he wears this shirt.

Then he says, "I wanna wat dat. I wanna wat dat mommy." (he wants to "watch that" meaning "Yo Gabba Gabba" because he think the yetti on his shirt is a yo gabba gabba character) :)

Tonight Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Steve took us out to Red Robin and then came to church with us! It was a good night!

AND it rained. All day! So I had to bust out one of Micah's birthday gifts early. As you can see he loved his froggy rain boots!

Our Hero.

Just wanted to take a moment to congratulate Billy on his new promotion at work. He has worked at Sam's Club for 8 years now and even though he graduated from Chico State a little over a year ago, did not feel it was time to leave there.

Well, his hard work has finally paid off and on Tuesday he found out he was promoted to management! Right now he is working out of town, but I just wanted to say how proud we are of him!

We have been praying about this for some time and just feel so blessed that God has chosen to bless us with this!

We love you Billy and appreciate all your hard work! You truly are our super hero!

Love, Tiffany and the boys

Getting Ready for Micah's 2nd Birthday...

...I can hardly believe that our little "mew" will be turning 2! Since wedding planning is (thank God) over I have been working on Micah's birthday party.

Ideally I would like to hold a small party-unfortunately neither Billy or I have "small" families!

Being the little animal lover that he is, we decided to have an "animal" party so here are just a few things I'm putting in his gift basket!

*Charley Harper illustrated ABCs book from Amazon

*Vintage hand painted artist smock

*Wooden tree stacker by Plan Toys

I go just for the pumpkin muffins...

...really! And the carmel apples are worth the trip too!

And before I forget, if you are a mom you need to go read the "Invisible Woman" article over here. It nearly made me cry.

I think it's love.

Children Repulse Me.

Okay. Not really. But look at the face I made when Micah came and joined in our first dance!

Who says $1 can't buy you anything?

I even got a penny back.

(photo from etsy, though I found this treasure at our local Goodwill :))

That's All Folks!

Okay. No more wedding blogging...at least not for a good while!

For Billy's wedding gift I gave him these awesome cufflinks I bought off of etsy. On the trip we got engaged on we went down to Lego Town and I bought Billy a Lego keychain as a reminder of the fun times we had there, and then right before the wedding it broke :( (rip batman!) SO I knew this would be a perfect gift...not to mention that Colby and Billy are Lego feens!

For my wedding gift, Billy got me this vintage camera. I had been wanting some ever since I saw a crewcuts photo shoot where the kids had them. He sent it over to me with a little note that said "i can't PICTURE my life without you". Isn't that cute (he had to tell me later because for some reason that went right over my head! :))

Finishing Up...

...so as far as the wedding I am just about finished! whew!

Here's some more details:

We got married at Crossroads Community Church where my family were founding members and I grew up at...instead of having rice thrown at us, we had our guests throw over 500 pink and brown pom poms as a nod to my love for crafts!

We held our reception at Peach Tree Golf and Country Club where I finally got to put that family membership to use!

The mason jar centerpieces were inspired by Billy. He used to (and still does on occasion) drink out of them when I first met him and I thought he was an unclassy weirdo! (sorry Billy!) :)

We did Jones Soda as our favors because rootbeer is Billy's favorite drink. Every table was littered with them but the children's table. The children went home with pink goody bags filled with silly glasses, crayons, drawing paper, memory/oldmaid/gofish cards, princess crowns, "diamond" rings, and pretend lizards for the boys.

It was important for us to keep the children occupied being parents ourselves!

Instead of a sign in book we had a big mason jar that served as our "wish jar" which by the way, we received some really interesting notes!!!! (William!). The table also had over 100 paper origami cranes for our guests to take as our "well wish" to them (cranes represent good luck in Japan). The table also held framed pictures from my mother, her mother, and my other grandmother all on their wedding days.

The cake was delicious! Infusion by Cakes By Request (tastes a bit like tiramisu with a little hint of chocolate) and buttercream frosting. It was a big hit! We cut the cake to Cake "I Want To Love You Madly" and had our first dance to "Come Away With Me" by Nora Jones.

All in all, it was a perfect day! There were a few people who wanted to be party poopers, but nothing could have made that day bad for us! It was so wonderful, and now it's official! :)
